Dec 14, 2016 · Duramax Second Generation: 2004. Insert release tool J-42759 into the ignition lock cylinder case to release the tabs on the ignition/start switch. A loose connector, or a broken/shorted wire will cause the same problem. My truck was stolen a while back and luckily the only thing that really happened was they got the catalytic converter and had started to cut the back passenger seat to get to the motors.
